My Brain

An occasionally updated repository of thoughts, past work, and links.

About Me

Half-Vietnamese. Half-Jewish. All mutt when it comes to interests and professional work. If you browse around, you'll see some of my interests, including writing, biomedical science, software, and internet business models.

I left my position with the Stanford Simbios project last year and now work full-time on Writertopia and two screenplays.

My short story, The Plastic Soul of a Note, won grand prize in the 20th annual Writers of the Future contest. You can find the story in the Writers of the Future Volume XX (Anniversary Edition) anthology or read the online version.

Some press:
  • A profile and interview in the July 2005 issue of ADVANCE for Imaging and Oncology Administrators.
  • An interview (MP3, 6.4 MB) on Destinies - The Voice of Science Fiction, which airs on WUSB, Stony Brook (www.wusb.fm)

Visit some articles to see some of my work in various fields.

My curriculum vitae

This site uses python software I developed (Bloog) running on Google's cloud computing platform (App Engine).  Its content was converted from a Drupal content management system, which was my old blog software despite my use of Ruby on Rails.
